Most private companies don’t reward failure. In fact if you cause the company to make a loss you will face the boot. Yet many banks who have made a loss reward their employees with big bonuses. These banks are owned either by the public or shareholders. The bank say they need to pay bonuses to keep good staff. What type of quality staff make a loss? I could replace any of the top people in banks with two people on half their salary’s and achieve more profits than they do with the present bunch of losers. My answer is too sack them all. The biggest problem is that the pension companies hold most shares in these bank and keep voting for the status quo. People should vote with their money and remove money from banks that pay stupid bonuses to the fat cats.
