UK out of the EU

A pamphlet published this week by David Campbell Bannerman, a Tory MEP, seeks to argue (against party policy) the contrary. Its title says it all: ‘The Ultimate Plan B: A Positive Vision Of An Independent Britain Outside The European Union.’

Coinciding as it does with the ICM poll findings, his thesis deserves to be studied carefully. Firstly we need to break out of the mindset that anyone who tries to make the case for Britain leaving the EU is mad — or, to judge from the contempt in which such a view is treated on certain BBC programmes, downright evil.

Mr Campbell Bannerman’s strongest argument is that there would be no economic downside to our departure. As the EU sells more to us than we do to it, it would be very much in its interests to enact a free trade agreement with us were we to leave. In 2009, our trade deficit — the excess of what we bought over what we sold — in manufactured goods with the EU was a shade under £35 billion.

Better than that — and here, at last, there is something to be said for the 2007 Lisbon Treaty — such a free trade agreement would not be a matter of conjecture. Article 50 of Lisbon requires the EU to make a trade arrangement with any nation deciding to leave it.

So the claim that there would be inevitable and large job losses is cast into doubt. He also argues that — with the ascent of China, India and Brazil — Britain would do well to leave a trading bloc whose share of world GDP is forecast to fall to 15 per cent in 2020, down from 36 per cent in 1980.

Just as the EU took no account of its role in a post-Soviet world, it seems incapable of understanding how to remain competitive in relation to rising powers such as China.

Britain also enjoys trading relationships elsewhere in the world that are not shared by other EU countries. We send 18 per cent of our exports to the U.S.: Germany sends only 7 per cent. And the biggest external investor in Britain is America.

Mr Campbell Bannerman rests much of his case for leaving the EU on the liberation it would bring from over-regulation of every aspect of our lives — one of the reasons for the EU’s poor competitiveness. He says that more than 100,000 regulations and directives have been imposed upon us since we joined the EU in 1973.

For example, the working-time directive — designed to limit the number of hours we can work, and which is estimated to cost £11.9 billion a year in lost productivity — would go if we left the EU. So, too, would a host of environmental orders such as the EU renewables directive, which insists we derive 20 per cent of our energy from renewables such as wind power, at an estimated £22 billion a year.

The Open Europe think tank reported last year that EU regulations had cost Britain £124 billion since 1998. This figure is not a partisan invention, but based on the Government’s assessments

Foreign Aid.

Why do we give Foreign Aid to corrupt countries like Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan and Zimbabwe who hate us. All aid should be stopped. We give aid to China and India who can afford space programs. We should give more aid to Libya this will help stem the economic migrants heading into the EU from Africa. Charity begins at home we should build more affordable housing here and help our manufacturing companies.

Halal in the UK

Halal meat comes from animals that have been cruelly and ritually slaughtered. The animal enters the slaughter area fully conscious of other animals being slaughtered; it is tied up and winched upside down. A Muslim Imam recites a prayer from the Koran…and cuts the throat of the live animal with a knife.

Killing an animal by cutting its throat without stunning it first is, in fact, illegal in this country. However, there is a legal loophole allowing this if it is being done for religious reasons. In this case, it is claimed that the animals ‘need’ to be conscious so that they can hear and receive the prayers to Allah.

The panic-stricken animal convulses, with its own blood gushing into its lungs and over its face and eyes, this agonising death takes nearly a minute. 60 seconds of pain and terror. And more than 10 million animals in Britain become victims of ritual slaughter every year.

Welfare in the UK.

The welfare system in the UK is open to abuse. Somali’s are getting their rents paid of over £100K a year, what type of job would they need to get to pay this amount themselves. In Africa families are lucky to share just one room in a mud hut without running water. These Somali’s are just economic migrants who have passed through many safe lands to get to the UK and no wonder when we give them so much in housing benefit for their large families, plus JSA and child benefits.

The welfare system rewards single mothers and even counts Muslim men’s second wives as single mums. I know several people who since they obtained a council flat have never paid taxes they don’t mind doing cash in the hand jobs because they get their rents and council taxes paid. When the council pays somebody’s rent where does this money come from?

I know several of the work shy who pop out more children to get a bigger council home and more child benefits. I think child benefits should be limited to 2 children and council homes to a maximum of 3 bedrooms. If large families are renting in the private sector and never work – the system should only pay a maximum of £15K a year towards rent this is more than the minimum wage. This might mean that the workkshy with large families might have to move out of London and downsize but this is the reality for those who work and have to commute to London.

Incapacity benefit is also a scam most people claim it because it pays more than JSA – drug addicts and alcoholics get it from their self inflicted illness.

I think Incapacity should pay the same as JSA with extra money available for carers.

The DHSS never actually check if people have applied for work – one telephone call to the company the unemployed say they have sent their C.V would be all that is needed.

We need to deport failed asylum seekers straight away even if they don’t have documents. Medical tourists must be stopped who use our NHS for free.

The corrupt EU

The EU’s budget will reach an eye-watering £116billion in 2012, including £14.4billion from British taxpayers. Treasury officials warned the move will force further cuts on public spending at home while critics said it will increase the public backlash against the EU.

UKIP leader Nigel Farage said: “It is scandalous that during a time of austerity that the European Parliament is calling for a budget increase.”

WHY ARE WE CONTRIBUTING 12.5% WHEN THERE ARE 27 COUNTRIES IN THE EUSSR?
LETS KEEP RALLYING FOR A REFERENDUM ON THIS CORRUPT ENTITY BEFORE IT IS REALLY TOO LATE!

WE SHOULD ALL BE BANGING ON THE DOOR OF WESTMINSTER TO TELL OUR LIAR OF A PM TO HANG HIS HEAD IN SHAME LIKE TO REST OF THE POLITICAL/EATON ELITE WHOSE EURO BUISNESS INTERESTS HAVE YET AGAIN STOP AN EU VOTE. THE HOUSE OF COMMONS WAS THERE TO REPRESENT THE COMMON PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY, BUT THE ELITE HAVE TAKEN IT OVER AND HAVE NO INTENTION OF HELPING THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION.
THEY WILL LIE IN ORDER TO LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS AND THEIR BANKER FRIENDS.
WE AS A NATION NEED TO JOIN TOGETHER AND STAND AS ONE. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF ALL THE STUDENTS GOT TOGETHER AND DIDN’T JOIN A UNI. THEY WOULD HAVE TO THINK AGAIN ABOUT TUITION FEES, NO STUDENTS NO FEES, NO FEES NO UNI. THE OVER PAID FEW AT THE TOP WOULD BE IN PANICK AND SO WOULD THE GOVERNMENT MORE ON THE DOLE.
THERE MUST BE SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO IS WILLING TO REPRESENT THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION AND PUT AN END TO THIS MADNESS.

The EU has not had its accounts approved in 13 years.
